Murder in Spain

​Sam turned on his laptop, as soon as he reached home. He searched for the details of ‘Project Theos’ but he could find only one thing that this ambitious project never surfaced, because many of the world’s superpowers were against it. But, the lead proponent of this project, a man whose identity was never confirmed, bought an island, and he might have carried out his experiments there. 

Sam searched about the island he bought, and came to know that it sunk, many years back.
Sam, then searched for the future events that were going to take place in Spain. He came across a seminar in Madrid featuring Prof. Reynard, who somewhat resembled the man in the video though, a lot aged.
“It must be him. El must be after this man. I must try to protect him, if I can,” Sam muttered.
Sam, knowing that El will not lie to him, left for Spain, the next day itself. Meanwhile, Wayne gave him two of his trusted officers, Matt and Jo for the mission.
On arriving at Madrid, Sam gave clear information to Matt and Jo, not to lose sight of Prof Reynard, no matter what. Although, the local cops won’t cooperate with them, they had to succeed in this mission.
He met with professor himself and told him about the danger El posed to his life. He even pleaded him to drop the idea of joining the seminar, to which professor sternly objected. Invitation to this prestigious seminar was one of the most honorable moments of his life, how could he let it go?
After his plea was rejected, Sam studied seminar’s itinerary and discussed how he could ensure professor’s security at every stage. Prof Reynard agreed to appoint Matt as his personal bodyguard until he left Spain. Sam also proposed to keep the suite under CCTV surveillance, to which professor objected again, but, on Sam’s persuasion he agreed. Having made sure, he left no nails unturned to secure Reynard’s residence, Sam left for his hotel room, while Matt was instructed to stay with the professor.
Next day, Sam arrived at the seminar auditorium early in the morning. He instructed Matt to keep an eye on everyone entering the hall and he himself began investigating the auditorium for any discrepancy. The seminar was going to continue for a whole week, and it was highly unlikely for El to do something on the very first day. But, Sam was not taking any chances.
Finally, professor arrived at the seminar, Matt himself received him. Amidst his vigilance Prof Reynard greeted the audience. Sam’s predator sharp eyes were observing even the slightest movement in the auditorium. He was keen to meet his adversary once again. Professor delivered his lecture and as Sam expected, nothing peculiar happened.
Three days passed on like that and El was nowhere to be found. But the very next day, everyone was shocked to find the dead body of Prof Reynard in his own hotel suite. Sam was aghast, despite his efforts, El had succeeded.
