The world seemed so phantasmagoric,
When I woke up, to a liquid sunshine,
Cool breeze, and, the petrichor.
When I looked out of the window,
Drizzle, changed, to a downpour,
The beach looked beautiful, and,
So did the shells, washed ashore.
I climbed over the cliff, drinking in,
The scenic beauty, the waters,
Were so serene, so calm,
I wanted to stay, till the time, offers.
Then, I felt my captain’s badge,
Shining, proudly, against my heart.
I took out my spyglass,
Looking for, my, mighty man-o’war.
It appeared, damaged,
Along, the starboard side,
But, what caught my attention,
Was the romance, of two dreadnoughts,
Which, I mistook, for a duel, a deadly fight,
Next, I saw a mermaid,
Playing with her hair,
Her ineffable beauty,
Evident, in her innocent eyes.
She looked up at me, flirting,
I blew a kiss, and she, shyly smiled.
Storm lashed upon, waves started to rise,
I wanted to escape, but more, otherwise,
Finally, my teenage mind, won, And, I,
Jumped from the cliff, into the sea,
Initially, nothing, later,
I saw, a gradient of blue,
Sapphire, Azure, Cerulean and turquoise.
My memory was so lambent, fugacious,
All I remember, are colours, and hues,
I woke up, with a yellow mood, and, can’t,
Recall, how I, ended up high, on blues.
I struggled, trying to steal, a mouthful of air,
Finally, a state of tranquility, overcame tempest,
Few episodes of light followed,
And eventually, everything, was dark,
Lighter blues, maybe pellucid,
But, the deeper, are black.
